The unprecedented
outpouring of sympathy and unity expressed by the Parisian in the aftermath of
what the French touted as "the 9/11 of France" was amazingly
impressive. With a total of, some saying, 3 million or so of people gathered to
lend support to the key founding principles of France speaks volumes on the
strength of the core values which France wants the world to subscribe to. In
this unity of vanity I see contradictions and confusions coexisting side by
side. Even many who participated in this million march were not supporting the
magazine per se, but they came to defend the liberal principles of France. It
is this that needs to be examined closely.
My question is how
would the French define freedom of expression? If freedom is expressed in
absolute terms then there is no need for law and order in the first place.
Everyone is free to express (both in words and actions) what he thinks is
right. But it is here the problem lies. Let's say if someone were to call his
own mother as "bitch" then he is free to do so, for he may know the
truth of his own mother, but that does not mean that he has the freedom to call
another person's mother as bitch and that too if she is not one. When I was
residing in the University of Edinburgh hostel at Pollock Halls I was shocked
to hear the casual usage, among the girls residing there, of this word as part
of endearment in addressing each other followed by giggles and spanking. What
pained me most was to see some of the non-European students, particularly from
Asia, copying it as though it is their lingo and no one took offense of it.
This is the problem in unfettered freedom. Commenting on this what Pope Francis said in
response to this incident was worth noting, that he would land a punch on one
who curses his (i.e. Pope's) mother - an unchristian behavior from the Pope
himself for not showing the other cheek, but then he is faced with the harsher
realism that stupefies his unrealistic spiritualism. What Pope was trying to do
in this sudden change of heart is that he is trying to salvage the guttered
reputation of the Church and its leaders.
From the outset I smelt rats in this so-called
war against free speech. As Dr. P. C. Roberts, an ex-Us Treasury official, has
succinctly puts it: Neoconservatives
arrayed in their Washington offices are congratulating themselves on their
success in using the Charlie Hebdo affair to reunite Europe with Washington’s
foreign policy. No more French votes with the Palestinians against the
Washington-Israeli position. No more growing European sympathy with the Palestinians.
No more growing European opposition to launching new wars in the Middle East.
No more calls from the French president to end the sanctions against
Russia....There is as much circumstantial evidence that the CIA and French
Intelligence are responsible for the Charlie Hebdo shootings as there is that
the shootings were carried out by the two brothers whose ID was conveniently
found in the alleged get-away car. As the French made certain that the brothers
were killed before they could talk, we will never know what they had to say
about the plot. The only evidence we have that the brothers are guilty is the
claim by the security forces. Every time I hear government claims without real
evidence, I remember Saddam Hussein’s “weapons of mass destruction,” Assad’s
“use of chemical weapons,” and Iran’s “nuclear weapons program.” If a US
National Security Advisor can conjure up out of thin air “mushroom clouds over
an American city,” Cherif and Said Kouachi can be turned into killers. After
all, they are dead and cannot protest.
This is the reason why neither Mr. Obama nor any of his high official were present during the million march that saw the ilk of the Nut in Yahoo (Netanyahu) trying to push his way through to the front row to show that he is with the French and that he wants to see that France reverse its policy towards the recognition of Palestine as a state and to oppose the ICJ's probe into the Zionists massacre of innocent Palestinians. I am sure this so-called terror against freedom will be used by this criminal and his puppies in the neo-conservative dominated Congress to exert pressure on all those European countries to think again in supporting their Palestinian overtures.
Already we are seeing similar attacks in Belgium and it will quickly spread to other European countries. All that these criminals need is a group of idiots claiming to be Muslims to do such stupid acts. We have no way of confirming the involvement of the Mossad, CIA and the rest of the European security apparatus that are infested with sympathisers to these Zionist criminals. Now we will have to see how far the ICJ will proceed with its work in bringing the perpetrators of the Gazan atrocities to justice. The show has just begun in Paris and I am not sure how long and how far it will continue. Muslims must be alert.
