OBAMA COUNTING ON HIS AFRCIAN ROOT

The recent hosting of the African leaders by Obama suggests many things concerning the desperation and/or frustration America has with the increased participation of China and others in reshaping Africa. All these while before the arrival of the Chinese, Africa was kept in the dark by the West so that none will have the courage to venture there, such that the West has created all sorts of discouraging stories aimed at frightening and waylaying others from Africa. Thus it is easy to find countries like Belgium with scarce resources exploiting the wealths of Congo and Burundi. It seems that almost all significant members of EU have unjustly exploited the wealths of Africa and deliberately kept the Africans underdeveloped, while nurturing dictators to loot the wealths of their nations to be deposited in banks in Europe, with no hope of accessing them.

But it was the Chinese who, even though came to exploit the natural resources of Africa, have brought development in the true sense of the word by building the much-needed infrastructures and to facilitate the development of human capital by a sustained technology-transfer program that aim at the empowerment of the Africans. Naturally the Africans want to brighten up their souls by seeking out Chinese help. This has certainly angered the West and so they started supporting the various terrorist activities against fellow citizens on the basis of ideological and economical differences. A Somalian friend informed me that US clearly instructed his government to seek American clearance before any deal is signed with China.

It is in this spirit of denying Chinese the access to African resources, the Americans following the dubious footsteps of their colonial European cousins have undertaken ambitious PR campaigns to hoodwink the African leaders for a White House Garden party. I don't know how many of these African leaders will fall for such cheap invite? In fact Obama did not show any respect to these leaders. By inviting them in large groups forgoing the diplomatic formalities meant for heads of states Obama was trying to show his African-ness by hosting these leaders under one roof as brothers. No doubt among the many shared interests, Obama was trying to promote among the "American culture" the LGBT agenda which Robert Mugabe, in his earlier meeting with the visiting Obama, scoffed at by saying he was willing to do it provided he partnered with Obama, since leaders must lead by examples. He also said that he courts China because China does not force him to accept homosexuality.

It is highly unlikely Obama might win friends in Africa if his mission is to aid through homosexuality. Perhaps the Africans may accept Mrs Obama as she was very candid about her African root and there was no need for her to stress home the message that the "blood of Africa runs through her veins" as it is all evident on her face and her demure. But our friend Obama is hesitant in articulating and acknowledging his African father. This may be another problem Obama faces in his charm offense to drum up supports for American neo-colonization of Africa.

The best way for America is to engage in building and upgrading the social status of Africans who are hardworking and sincere in their activities. America must invest heavily in the transformation of Africa and lightening it up with hopes of a brighter future. At the same time America must not be playing the Devils Advocate in dealing with regional and national issues in Africa by arming both sides of the conflict and seeing who wins the internal strife. Certainly keeping Africa under siege will frustrate the efforts of other countries who want to help in the development of Africa. If this trend continues I am sure even a full-black Afro-American President will not get any sympathy and support from African leaders. Certainly Africans will not be fooled by colours. They are a colourful people.
