THINGS FALLING APART

The Scots have voted to stay in the Union. But the Royal anger was evident when the Queen lost her cool and called her Scottish subjects (or rather affectionately children) "Bastards". A great insult for the Scots. She is expected to be apolitical as she is still loved by the Scots. This remark will never go down well with the new generation of Scots. I am certain the Union will not last for long. The battle lines are drawn and in days and weeks to come more grouses from the rigged election will come to fore and justice will be the clarion call from all over Scotland. I did not expect such cheap behavior from the champion of democracy. All along we have been hearing of vote rigging and election fraud from countries in the Indian subcontinent and other African and Latin countries. This is a disgrace. There are accusation that the secret service might have had its hand in the swing of the vote in favor of the Union. I am not surprised, since these institutions are there to safeguard the status quo.

One thing has become very clear is that in the coming days more bitterness will come out into the streets and the security hawks will be stretched to handling the fall out of this rigged result. One may anticipate the disappearance of some Scottish politicians and intense monitoring of independence-seeking Scots. Let's hope this love for Union will last without any incident.  But my feeling is that things are falling apart in the no more United Kingdom.
