THAROOR-TARAR FURORE

When India and Pakistan talk about normalization of relation what they mean is the opening of the border for the free movement of people and goods by easing visa restrictions. The recent revelation of illicit relations between an Indian and a Pakistani nationals of some repute has opened the door of interpretation of that normalization to even wider speculation. No doubt Shashi Tharoor a Southerner from Kerala who rose to prominence in UN and then due to persistent objections from Pakistan returned to India to contest in the messy politics there and to dirty his name. No one thought that he would get this popular by venturing into cross-border romance and that too with a journalist whom he meet regularly in the exotic city of Dubai, which is known for bringing the two nations together through free mixing of the subcontinent, where they find shelter from being blamed as unpatriotic. I was wondering what was on his mind when he decided to hit his ball into Pakistan hole. A thrice divorced Shashi wants to get his sushi from Pakistan. Was he trying to get even with Pakistan for objecting his UN bid by courting a Pakistani? Who is converting into whose religion? or is this new-found mohabbat free from religion? I am puzzled. One thing is sure the relation between the two countries will not be that romantic even though some leaders are keen developing their own businesses across the LoC. As for Mehr she is all out to get the minister confess to his infidelity. Her article on Indian Love is merely a wishful thinking that belittles the sacrifices of thousands in defending their country.

I find this man a pervert. He reminds me of the infamous sex guru Mahrishi Mahesh Yogi with his protruding eyes about to come out of their sockets on seeing any beautiful figure. He might want to train Mehr on kundalini yoga or tantric massage. We may need to read about other Indian ministers' infatuation with Pakistani women. Perhaps the next one might be Narendra Modi.
